We now have warm weather again and summer is here, so there is no doubt that many people will be spending time at the beach. If you ask me, the beach is the best thing about summer (I’m not one who loves humidity or high temps). I wanted to share with y’all the essentials that I’ll have with me at the beach this summer (and lake and pool because these things work there too!). We all know we need a bathing suit, a towel and sunscreen when we’re having our fun in the sun, but there might be some things you’re forgetting that I don’t want you to miss! I hope this helps y’all out as you pack up and head to the beach this summer.
Something to protect your electronics
We all know the beach can be dangerous for our electronics. We don’t want them to get sandy and we definitely can’t risk them getting wet. A cute zipper pouch or something similar is a great place to keep all that stuff to make sure nothing happens to it. This can also double as a place to keep your driver’s license, debit card, keys or any other important things you need to keep track of!
A cute tumbler full of water
Staying hydrated is super important when you’re out in the sun, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. There are so many super cute tumblers and water bottles that you can use to keep your water cold while you’re out at the beach. I personally have so many it can be hard to decide which one I want to bring with me!
Headphones or speaker for music
Music is such a big part of summer and can really make a beach trip even more fun than it already is. If you’re planning to chill by yourself and get some sun, you’ll need some headphones. But if you’re doing with a group for some real summer fun, you’ll want a speaker to make sure everyone will be able to join in the fun! A favorite pastime of my family is playing “name that tune.” Someone will play a song and everyone else has to guess the song and artist as fast as possible. It’s a great game to play at the beach!
A good book (if you’re in the mood to chill)
Sometimes there’s just nothing better than relaxing on the beach with a good book. If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, don’t forget to bring your book with you on your next trip! Something with a tropical setting is always a great choice during the summertime, but any book you find interesting is the perfect book for your relaxing beach trip!
A cute pair of sunglasses
Protecting your eyes can be just as important as protecting your skin, so you need to make sure you have a pair of sunglasses with you when you’re at the beach. But it doesn’t always have to be all boring! Find a pair you think is cute and a pair you love to wear. It’ll make it fun and make you feel good on your trip, all while keeping your eyes safe from the sun.
All these things are definitely essentials for me. Whether you’re going to get some relaxation or you have a fun day at the beach planned with your best pals, I hope you find something on this list to add to your beach bag that just changes the game.
